Who am I & what do I do?

Welcome to my site. I'm Mark Weston, a Front-End Web Developer from Manchester, UK.

This current one page affair is designed to showcase some of the work I've done and allow you to contact me whilst I'm working on something more substantial to take it's place.

I've recently worked as a freelance Front-End Web Developer for Drumbeat Creative in Manchester. As a Front-End Web Developer I generally take graphic designs and convert them into well crafted, accessible, standards compliant and cross-browser compatible websites. If you're looking to hire me, or even if you're not sure what you're looking for, don't hesitate to contact me.

I'm currently unable to show the work I completed for Drumbeat Creative on my site. This is due to confidentiality agreements that are in place. If you would like more details about my activities at Drumbeat Creative please contact me and ask for a copy of my CV.

Trinket

trinket.markweston.co.uk

The Trinket website was built for a Young Enterprise Business Project during my final year at university. The design for the site was created by one of the Trinket team which I then scaled using the 360 grid system. I built the site using valid, standards compliant HTML and CSS and some simple PHP to include repeating sections of code. The individual product pages use a JavaScript image viewer to display a larger version of the product image.

Note: As Trinket was a final year university project it has now been liquidated and is only running on my webspace for demonstrative purposes.

CAS HTML emailer

An HTML email template built whilst working at Graduate Prospects.

The design of the email was adapted from a previous version and was developed in a modular fashion to enable easy maintenance.

The HTML was hand coded using legacy, table based HTML 4 and as little CSS as possible to enusre it rendered correctly in as many email clients as possible.
